Fixed luminaire safety standard IEC 60598-2-1:2020 update instructions
On January 28, 2020, the International Electrotechnical Commission issued the standard IEC 60598-2-1:2020 Lighting Equipment-Part 2-1: Special Requirements-Fixed General Luminaires, which stipulates that the power supply voltage does not exceed 1000V. Requirements for fixed general-purpose luminaires used with electric light sources.
The second edition of the standard released this time is a technical revision, canceling and replacing the first and revised editions published in 1979, that is, replacing IEC60598-2-1:1979/amd1:1987.
Compared with the first edition of the standard in 1979, the second edition of the standard released in 2020 has no major technical changes. The scope of application and references of the standard are mainly updated. The references are as follows:

Comparing the scope of the above new and old standards, it can be seen that the light source has changed from tungsten filament lamps, tubular fluorescent lamps and discharge lamps to electrical light sources, that is, all energized light sources are included in the scope of IEC 60598-2-1:2020, including LED lamps , Tungsten filament lamps, tubular fluorescent lamps, other discharge lamps and other light sources.
02 Updated the standard references in Part 1
When you need to refer to other standards:
a) For dated references or standards, only quote the applicable content of that edition;

On June 2, 2020, IECEE released the latest corresponding report TRF template IEC60598_2_1G, IEC 60598-2-1:2020 used in conjunction with IEC 60598-1:2014, AMD1:2017.
